The Monkey Hat

I envy those of you who have the time and know-how to blog on a regular basis. I, however, have very little time and am a little iffy on the know-how. I've completed a few projects lately and will try to post those.

Here's a hat that I made for my daughter. She came home from school one day and said that Hat Day would be the following day. So, I offered to make her one. She chose the fabric from my stash of course. The pattern, Simplicity 2876, was from my stash as well, although I bought it for the jacket. I made the hat at 1am. She loved it. After school that day she came home with the hat in her bag. No other kids were wearing hats. Hat Day was the next day! Oh well!

The pattern was very easy to follow from the pictures. (I rarely read the directions, if I can help it) I added the bow mainly because I have a huge bag of ribbon that I must use up. Only 19 cents for about 10 yards, so I had to buy it. Right?!?

Thanks for looking. More to come soon. Hopefully some items for fall.

No time like the present...

I had the notion to start a blog some time ago, but never got around to posting something. So I' m gonna give it a go right now. I made this dress back in May. It's M5652. Very simple to sew. I used a border print batik from Hancock's. I'm making a red knit one for my sister and I'll probably make another for me before the warm weather leaves us. 100 degree temps this week tell me I have at least another month to make and wear another. I have other made garments to post and I'm doing a little back to school sewing for my daughter. I also have a huge 'to-be-sewn' list in my head. So those of you who choose to follow my blog please bare with me, because I am totally blogger illiterate.

Thanks for reading,
Danielle
